For some reason, I wrote off this whole run awhile back. But I was looking for something different, and I found this. Wow. I don't know what I was thinking earlier. This show is amazing. Someone in a previous review mentioned the intro to The Music Never Stopped, which is cool, but the entire song is amazing. I've been checking out different versions of this song lately, and this might be the best one yet.
The energy gets going early on and doesn't quit.
By the way, this show was released as Road Trips Vol. 3, No. 1.

Also needs to be mentioned that this Alabama > Greatest transition is the Leshiest of them all. You can feel the audience explode. Sometimes it's just a "stop/start" but this one was hot.
The whole show and the entire Oakland 79' XMAS/NYE run is proof that 79' is underrated. Any head that dismisses the band after Keith and Donna should refer to this run before being so sure.
Thanks for the upgrade. Wish I could figure out how to download the confangled thing... ;)

This is just my thinking but to me this is far and away the best intro to The Music never Stopped. The 1st few nights of New Years runs were usually better then the big night itself. I think because there was so much energy in the air which leads to something like this.
All hail the band themselves sure we have been lucky to have good quality music from tapers but is the band.
Set list is average but the playing is above average
